Good Samaritan Project
Communications and Social Media Chair
Last Spring, I was presented with a unique and exciting opportunity to build the Diocese of St. Petersburg's Good Samaritan Project social media and communication from the ground up.
The Good Samaritan Project is a week-long service retreat put on by the Diocese of St. Petersburg's Youth and Young Adult Ministry office. With my background in communications, the director approached me with the opportunity to take the little amount of digital influence GSP had and expand it to reach more people.
During the week of GSP, I took photos and video, created compelling graphics, and constantly updated social media through all major platforms. During the week, I utilized exciting features to our advantage through Facebook Live videos, photo and video peeks into our service sites, and informational updates.
Good Samaritan Project 2016 has been over for several months now. I was invited to stay on in this position for the following year. In the last few months, we have collaborated to build a website, www.dospgoodsamproject.org.
I am immensely blessed by this opportunity to serve my Diocese in my free time. This position is truly a labor of love and I am excited to see what the future holds.
